Using finite element analysis, and related numerical methods, NB Engineering can create virtual representations of components and systems that simulate real world behavior under a variety of loads and constraints. The results produced by these simulations can then be used to aid in the design process, or to resolve an existing performance or reliability problem.

The image below shows the results of a thermal analysis conducted for one of our customers. The requirement was for the unit to operate in a still air condition at 71°C. This analysis was able to show that a particular component (shown in red) exceeded its maximum junction temperature (105°C). Based on this result, recommendations were made to reduce the temperature of the part so that the unit would survive the environmental constraints.
